Moxxie's Got More Moxxie
We’re thrilled to share that we added two new investing members, Ashwin Lalendran and Chris Wu, to the Moxxie team. As we build Moxxie, our goal is to lean into our strengths as operators, particularly in engineering, growth and go-to-market, to help support the founders we back. We also wanted to strengthen our presence in two critical markets: San Francisco and New York. Both Ashwin and Chris are helping us achieve these goals and more! They are both experienced operators and former founders with unique networks and an unmatched level of curiosity, drive, empathy and optimism.
Here’s a bit more about each of them:
Ashwin Lalendran: Over the last 15 years, Ashwin has designed and deployed computer vision and robotic systems on the ground, in the air, at sea, and in space — including at Apple, the Air Force Research Laboratory and Seed to Series B startups. In each environment, he has gone from napkin sketch to scaled deployment. His experience earns the trust of founders who are navigating the journey of commercializing deep tech. Ashwin is excited about software eating regulated industries — everything from manufacturing and mining to maritime and medicine. Ashwin’s technical and commercial network provides him with an asymmetric advantage in quickly validating deals and sourcing customers and talent for his portfolio companies. Ashwin lives in San Francisco with his wife and three children.
Chris Wu: Chris joins us from Hims & Hers where he was the GM of Clinicians, overseeing the health and performance of the supply side of the business. Before that, he played key roles in go-to-market and growth strategy functions at DoorDash, Lyft, Funding Circle, and Samsara. His experience includes contributing to the growth of these companies as they scaled to IPO, which shapes his approach to evaluating companies today: determined founders, a clear strategy, and fast execution. Chris is also a former YC founder and is active in the startup ecosystem, where founders turn to him for his deep go-to-market expertise. He has been an angel investor since 2014 and lives in New York City.
If you are an early stage founder in the Bay Area or New York (and beyond), we’d love to hear from you! Our DMs are open.
